Why William wants to retain his position as your councilmember in Mountlake Terrace…
“The reason I am running to retain my position is because I want to continue my work with the council creating plans for a diverse and vibrant city, where growth decision are made with an equitable lens. From the outcome of community conversations and city open houses, residents were able to give input to the city about planning for affordable housing options and I want to continue to be part of the process to see and approve the codes to bring this to fruition. I want our residents to know that I will work with the chamber of commerce and economic development manager to ensure that we attract diverse businesses that will attract customers who will shop in our city. I intend to continue the effort to have events that will allow our residents the opportunity to embrace one others cultures.
Mountlake Terrace is a diverse, thriving and growing community that is not without its challenges. I will work with the city to fiscally manage our growth and not let rising housing cost drive out our seniors and new residents. I will listen to and question our department managers plans on scheduling work on our infrastructure while again making sure that it is done with an equitable lens. I will always look for ways to make sure our police department, fire department and city services have the resources to operate safely, effectively and efficiently.
I believe our residents deserve to be listened to and empowered to participate in government decision making. I will always be a proponent of community engagement and city transparency.”
